    Friends,

if you happened to be stranded on an island, which luxury item would you prefer to have?

Personally, I would choose a radio. Who would need a tv?
Listening to the radio, your imagination ought to be able to come up with adequate slide-show in your mind, so you wouldn't miss your plasma, innit? Smile

Broadband! Then you can have radio and TV, and loads of other stuff!!!!

No, really I'd choose a radio, of the amateur radio transmitting kind, and a big power supply.

Radio. I have about 10 radios in my house but no TV.

not had a tv for a few years, so it'd be radio, but broadband internet as the most important Wink

Agreed. Internet radio - the sheer joy of being able to listen to music without it being interrupted by the inane ramblings of ignorant, over-paid, self-important 'disc jockeys'.

A laptop with a solar recharging unit + satellite broadband is all I'd need. Radio, TV - and a means to call for assistance too! Wink

Am I the only idiot who invested in a WorldSpace radio set? I'm so glad I only paid half price! Smile

WorldSpace works via a small dish, just like Sky TV. For a few years I had real pleasure listening to CD quality programming from around the world. Especially while doing computer work in my office in our supermarket.

Nowadays, if you want to listen to anything good with it, you have to pay subscription fees. Well, I ain't paying no money for any radio thank you.

It's a good job I can use it for Radio 2 and Radio 4! Ha ha! Smile
