I recently downloaded some shots from my camera onto my computer. When downloaded they were either Jpeg or Raw. These stored correctly at first and I worked on some of them and resaved them. The ones I did not work on and resave have now for some reason converted to XMP files and will not open. Can anyone help??
The XMP files are the saved changes to the raw file.
They are nor files in there own right only the list of changes you made.
When you re-open the raw file the changes in the XMP file are applied so that the raw file opens as you would expect, the raw file itself is not altered.
If the orignal files are not there you need to find out if they were deleted or moved.
