Quote: Have found S100 very good but mainly the same as S95.
From which I discern you're happy with your choice; which is good to hear. For some weird reason, I genuinely feel a bit relieved. ![]()
Quote: I'll only use DPP when I process raw from the S100.
It wouldn't worry me at all to use Adobe for the Olympus RAW and DPP for the Canon RAW. I've got Adobe all set up for my OM-D anyway. I have used DPP in the past but, as you indicate, it is a tad odd and I didn't persevere with it. Olympus's equivalent of DPP is rubbish.
But my question was really whether you apply NR....... regardless of what RAW converter is used?

Ah right. By default I leave Luminance NR and Chrominance NR at 0 (Scale is 0-20).
If there's noticeable noise in a particular image I find in DPP that I can push the reduction as far as 16 before NR damages detail too much.
I think he is moonlighting as a bt engineer to make up for the pay freezes ... ![]()
I think they both are, but one while running. ![]()
Fancy a good compact myself. Is the S100 still the best to go for? I do like an Optical Viewfinder though!
And there`s this new camera from Benq that looks very interesting.

Quote: Sony RX100 is now looking like the pocket camera to get.

Not sure how pocketable it is actually........... around 36mm thick compared with 26mm for the Canon S100. More handbaggable than pocketable? ![]()
10mm difference.................... You must have jeans like speedos (budgie smugglers). ![]()
