I was having problems with my pentax k100 D camera and informed pentax of the problem and they asked me to return the camera for repair. I sent the camera to pentax labs and one week later recived a parcel from them which I thought was my camera back after repair. On opening the parcel I found they had issued me with a brand new camera. As the old camera was 10 month into it's one year warranty Im well chuffed as the new one is under guarantee for 12 months from the day of posting which was last week

This is my first pentax camera and other than the problem I was well pleased at the results of the camera. I found pentax dealt with my problem very well and there people at the help line could not have offerd a better service. Back up services some times, let's say leaves a little to be desierd but I feel I can buy from pentax again because of a product that in my opinion offers good value and also there excelent service.

A friend dropped his 10D (3 months old) and had dented the hot shoe. He sent it to Canon for an estimate and they sent him it back cleaned and with a new hot shoe no charge ![]()
In one respect not as generous, but in another they could have stung him.
