Yes I went to church when I was in the Cub Scouts. They had a concrete tub at the end where they dipped baby's in and then everyone went up the pub.

Hi There Colly,
The Lord is a wine person.
Is the church in the photo near where you live and have you been inside to photograph it?
The lighting inside through the windows and the overall beauty of such architecture is is so
moving!
Thank you for your comments and photo!
Enjoy the day.
Love

Hi Vicky

The church in the image is actually of Plymouth Cathedral and was one of the images of a wedding I did there. My posting was one of a tease but I agree with you church architecture is wonderful with some real outstanding places to visit. As an Athiest I still find being in one a moving experience if only for the peace of mind they generate.

There are some truly outstanding images of many churches on this site.

Colin (apologies for the tease) Smile

Here is an image of the inside:-

Hi Colin,

The interior is beautiful!
This is a beautiful interior church photo because you captured the joy of the sacred event.

I have documented many details of interior and exteriors of
churches and cathedrals, also have photos of the most beautiful stained glass windows. I want
to share a few over the days to come.

Thank You for sharing your wonderful photography you are
very talented. Would you kindly share more of your work?

On 17 January 1871 the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared before a group of children in the small town of Pontmain in Mayenne, France. As a result of this appearance the town has attained special significance as a place of pilgrimage.

Despite having a population of well under 1000 inhabitants Pontmain has a basilica that would put many fine cities to shame. The stained glass windows are truly impressive and when the sun shines through them you get treated to the most amazing light display.

I have had an ongoing project (more off than on Grin) involving photographing all the churches/chapels in our neck of the woods, for some years.

There are more than I anticipated when you take into account all the small village chapels disused ones nd those that have been converted to private dwellings.

The other day I came across a small chapel in a village that I had not noticed before.

The intention being to eventually create a Website with historical notes of the buildings.

I'll finish it ............one day! Grin

Hi There Maro Man,

I believe it important to photograph these places and spaces to contribute to visual history
of places that may or will be lost with time. The windows and church details will get sold
and decayed,destroyed, or stolen.
I also want to put these places in that are the heart of communities into a visual record.
Perhaps someone someday might need it or enjoy it.
Please keep this project going. Perhaps this can spark something wonderful to happen.

Best Regards
Love
Vicki
