Living Years, Mike and the Mechanics. Gets me every time.

Living Years

One of the greatest songs ever written and so real. I dare anyone who has lost their father to listen to this and not shed a small tear. First time I heard it, not long after my father had died, I cried buckets. It spoke a truth many struggle to admit, sadly, including me.

I've not been able to listen to that for over 17 years Jane, but 4 weeks ago it came on the radio as I drove to Yorkshire for a dawn shoot and I forced myself to listen ... as suspected I had a bit of a weep when it got to the verse "I wasn't there that morning, when my Father passed away, I didn't get to tell him, all the things I had to say" but I managed to listen to it all for the first time in a long while!!! Still gets me now writing this!!!
