No contest - Lionel Ritchie singing 'Goodbye'
Goodbye
Ignore the video, just listen to the words. If 'peace in where you are' line does not get you, nothing will.
Roger
My mother had Goodbye play at her funeral. All i ever remember was her sitting alone trying to come to terms with the loss of my father. And she kept playing this record. 10 months later she passed away. And it hurt hard standing there remembering her listening to this. I hope they are both together again. Love and miss them both. I have tears i my eyes as i type this...
The one that got me many many moons ago was from the movie Highlander

Brilliant performer from a few years ago. Peter Skellern
Mike & the Mechanics - 'The Living Years' for me too Denny.
Used to really like that song, but now I can't listen to it because of the line "I wasn't there that morning, when my father passed away ..." reminds me too much of the phone call I received early one day at work from my auntie [dad's sister] to tell me he'd had a sudden heart attack and died.
