I wanted to comment on this portfolio as a whole.
Each photo on their own is sharp, detailed, precise but when you view the portfolio you realise that every one is more or less the same. Bird on branch, blurred brown background, technically excellent and yet taken in their entirety uniform, and some how lifeless. I am sorry - I saw one of the images in the gallery the other day and thought it was technically excellent but somehow doesn't touch me - there is no connection and now I just looked at the front page of the portfolio and I can see why - as I said - each one if viewed entirely on it's own is technically excellent but is just like every other photo in the portfolio - the subjects are totally interchangeable and you wouldn't know the difference in the photo. I know this is probably because the tog has that mossy branch set up in his/her garden BUT 10 photos later, all processed in the same way it's boring. Seen one - seen them all.
So while I can say that each photo taken individually is technically pretty amazing and I would be happy to do half as well - there is something rather soulless about them and viewed as part of a portfolio there is nothing to keep me wanting to look at more of the person's work. I would not, for example, buy a book of bird images when every one looks exactly the same.
So I really would not from that point of view say that this is 'THE best'. There other photos that might be technically less wonderfully but have more soul and variety in a collection is important to make a person want to see more.
