Hi Darla, iam from Greenock originally, moved to North Wales in 1979, and over to the Wirral, Merseyside about 9 years ago. So, there are fellow Scots here, just not in the neighbourhood. Hope you have fun here. Anthony
Hi Darla, Originaly from Elderslie (next to Paisley in the lowlands) I now live in Dorset. However I'll be doing a sort of mini tour of the North by motorcycle later this month staying in Fort Augustus. Weather permitting I have high hopes of some good pictures even if I've only got room for a compact camera.
most of my photographs are taken on the west coast of Scotland (I live in Helensburgh) although I was lucky enough to have a trip up to Orkney last year.
If you'd like to see some of my pics please have a look at my website www.andart.co.uk
All the best,
You could have a we peep at my site for a shot of the Lock Ness Monster, all of the Scots canals are covered,
It will make you feel home sick.
Thanks for the replies!! Bill, unfortunately you have been fooled, that i am afraid is not the loch ness monster. He (yes it is a he) doesnt have a large hump quite like that and he tends only to come out at night these days, far too many tourists and he is a tad camera shy. He is also a lot bigger than that, longer that is, and he lives in a cave on the bottom of the loch. All us Highlanders have seen him you know, friendly little chap unless he is in a kelpie eatign mood!
Hi Darla. I`m Yorkshire born but have been based to the West of Paisley for the last thirty years. Main photographic interests are portrait and fashion, but you cant live up here without shooting landscapes. Well we`ve got to feed the wee midges have`nt we !!.
As you may gather l`ve just spent a few days in the Fort William area and been eaten alive by the wee devils.
If that pics the first effort of a three year old then he certainly demonstrates considerable skill. Well done.
So photography and e-zine are alive and well in Scotland its just that were all so busy out there shooting it.
Sincere regards, Colin
Hi Colin, Do you go to any of the local camera clubs. I was in the Paisley Photographic Society in the building up behind the Museum (Oakshaw) for a few years, but many years ago. I remember it as an excellent club the like of which does not seem to exist down here in Dorset. It had its own studios, two of them, and darkrooms, colour and B&W and good competitions. Don't think my photography has moved on much since I left that club.
Yes l know Paisley P.S. well although not a member. It continues to flourish and is still one of the premier clubs of the district. Personally l`m a member and competition secretary of Gyrffe C.C. which is based in Houston and on the committee of the GDPU for my sins.
Suprised to hear photo clubs do not cater so well for there members in your area. Maybe you should rejoin P.P.S. the weekly round trip would be interesting !!. Keep in touch we probably can reveal some stories about mutual aquaintances.
The new club session restarts up here tonight and l`m rushing about like a headless chicken trying to do all the things l intended to have ready weeks ago.
Take care, regards. Colin,
Yet another Scot.
I'm In Glasgow.
A bit late with this, but I am from Glasgow aswell. May the (small) Scots ephoto-sect long flourish!
I'm based in Deeside but spend a lot of time oot West
I am in the Scottish Borders
Nice to see there are some more out there.....
Just keeps getting better and better does'nt it? All these fellow scots, and no one has yet mentioned Macaroons ! Oops, sorry Darla. Hows your computer after that bit fell off?
