Sort of.
Once it's installed, you have to tell it to remove each advert individually. I know that that sounds like a right pain but in fact, it's pretty easy.
You can do as I do and remove every advert from every site that I visit that has them, or you can just remove the ones that annoy you the most.
I also use 'Flashblock' which gets rid of all the, erm, flash adverts; you know, those ghastly flashing or animated ones.
