I seek guidance from the wiseWink

Im looking for a small 8-12 inch speedlite softbox that will fit either a Canon 580 or Canon 430 size flash.

Is there such thing?...... that is cheap?

Or am I better off taking the Blue Peter option and fashioning said item from household items and maybe a bit of Muslin for the diffuser?

I made a few snoots Blue Peter styley and they worked a treatSmile

I use this cheapo one from EBAY for most of my macro work when using a EX550 strobe and the Canon MP-e 65mm x5 lens, much prefer this over the ring flash as you can get creative using shadows, whereas the ringflash has a habit of leaving images looking all a bit flat.......I sometimes use it with Stofen diffuser underneath just to diffuse things all a bit more, but that depend on the magnifications I working with at the time Wink
The nice thing about this particular one is the elasticated cuff, which means you don't have to fanny about using velcro!

Thank You Paul and Ade,
I shall be using it on and off camera,
Mainly outside so the smaller size is key so as not to turn the speedlites into a kite on windy daysWink

These days I prefere flash benders, they give you more control than softboxes and ringflash.

You're just saying that because you're being sponsored by a major flash-bender manufacturer ... Wink
