Quote: It is not currently thought that stores will reopen as part of the purchase.

The part of the deal covering "certain other assets" is understood to mean leftover stock and intellectual property.

Not so much as a white knight as an asset stripper.

In what way is he an asset stripper. He is buying a defunct brand.
If anyone is an asset stripper, surely it is the administrators...

Hopefully it will save jobs. That's the main thing.

Hows he going to save jobs???

    OK.

Jessops goes to the wall = ALL jobs gone.

Peter (the internet God) understands that we - the human being - like to 'touchy-feely' the intended purchase BEFORE parting with the hard-earned cash.

'Hmmmm... How can I maximise on this? (Peter says to himself...)

Let's keep SOME of the chain retail outlets open in KEY geographic areas so that the prospective buyers can get their mitts on the product - BEFORE ordering online.

    QED.

    SOME jobs are saved.

    Wink

Agreed, out to make himself some money and we shouldn't knock him for that, but he's certainly no 'White Knight' in the sense that he intends to be the saviour of Jessops.

    Suggestion.

Let's all pick up on this thread in six to nine months time...?? When it's all 'happened'

I heard rumours that someone was going to buy HMV and Jessops and maybe combine them, probably in some watered down versions, stores within stores.
