    Hi,

I'm looking for some software that scans jpegs for competitor numbers and then adds the competitors race number to the meta data so it can then be used by the competitor to search for their images online.

My searches have come up short hoping you can help.

    Cheers

    Steve

Have you tried searching for OCR (optical character recognition) software? It's usually used to read scanned documents - no idea if any of them would work on a photo though.

OCR - That works a treat, thanks guys. Chris - I prefer old school law enforcement usually involving a hair dryer roughly every four years. Points don't always make prizes.

What software did you use in the end? I am trying to organise around 3000 photos at the moment off race bib numbers.....

    Slightly laborious!!

Hi Kandooevents. I haven't found a solution. I've had software sales guys on it, an American tech guy looking, my searching and all I have found is 'send a DVD to India / China' (no good for selling on the day) to do it manually or develope the software yourself. OCR only seems to scan hardcopies, not scan a Jpeg. So still stuffed.
