lol i think a practical thingy would go down well, but we in Dorset have made a habit of ending up in the pub earlier than planned due to the rain, but i am sure that couldn't happen in Wales Wink

Of course that wouldn't happen - we just wouldn't make plans.
    Wink

A few more details and I may be able to come along too.

I would suggest either Nash Point or Rest Bay

Quote: There's not much to photograph in Porthcawl tho. Cardiff bay is more interesting and OK if it rains.

There's plenty to photograph in Porthcawl, depending on what sort of thing you're after of course, in particular there are surfers and lads doing strange things on bikes on the storm wall, but Porthcawl is probably a good base for those travelling any sort of distance and wanting somewhere to stay. I'll be coming from Milton Keynes so don't intend doing it in a day!
Cardiff bay is probably ok if you're after architecture and city landscapes but if you're after something more natural then, as Cole suggests maybe Nash Point or Rest Bay, or maybe even Southerndown? (must type faster!!!)
I'm happy to leave it to the OP to sort out where the meet is but I'd be interested in coming along, providing the dates are right, even if we only end up setting the world to rights in the pub! I'll probably bring my cameras just in case we get to take some piccies Wink

Sounds good to me. I have a spare bed (Abergavenny based) if anyone wants one.
Are we looking at before or after Xmas? Bearing in mind SWPP convention / Focus etc. I don't mind and will go with the majority.

After Christmas for me too, of to Scotland this week (see you Thursday Maddie) and then it's the run up to Christmas and if I spend too many weekends away in December, i.e. any at all, I'm gonna be in so much trouble! Wink

Okey, dokey, what about say beginning of March 08? I can't do the end as we'll be off to Turkey for a week, but not sure of the dates yet.
Do we go for a week day or weekend?
