As a not well know photographer I also have done this. Most dSLR users get round to water drops at some point, its a sort of rites of passage thing. There was the famous experement in high speed photography to see if a horse always had a leg on the ground or not when galloping, I think that is the first.
Should I be worried ?
Never had the slightest inclination to photograph a water droplet, and the plethora of copy-cat shots in the readers gallery leave me cold...
Now I have photographed a plastic spoon being melted by hot water - but I was being paid to do so.

I remember declanh telling me about setting up for his shots.
'Why bother' sprang to mind.
Closest I've come to it is shooting the drip hanging from a kids runny nose.
(and yes I was getting paid to do that too
)
