This morning I had some very sad news

My friend and photograpic comrade of the past 40 years, known on Epz as f8, has, during a severe bout of depression, ended his own life.

My photo outings will never be the same again.

    RIP Stuart.

I am sorry to hear this. My cousin took his own life aged just 52 in July this year - we were the same age and grew up together in the same village etc., Not an easy thing to come to terms with - and I do understand what you will be going through - my thoughts are with you and Stuarts family. It is very sad when someone takes their own life. Things must be prity grim for them to do that. Sorry to hear that you have lost a good friend, and no doubt this forum had lost a friend too.

Tragic - I cannot imagine the turmoil going on in ones mind to take your own life. Very sad news indeed.

I'm very sad to hear that news. f8 was a well known and respected member of this site.

Although I didn't know him, I do know what depression can do and my heart goes out to his friends and family.

So sorry to hear about this, Michael. A 40-year friendship ending like that. Sad

Didn't know Stuart personally except through his portfolio, but as Chris indicates he was well-known and well-regarded on here.

Very sorry to hear that, feel for you. Losing friends is the hardest thing.

Enjoy the memories of your friendship and the fun that the shared interest we all love gave to you both...
