Chris Rudland and I have been discussing the possibility of arranging a Suffolk coast meet in late Spring/early Summer. We are tentatively looking at one of the last three weekends in June (I'm in Toronto the first weekend) or early July, but of course the date will depend on attendees' availability.

Other areas in that vicinity :

The River Blyth, especially the part of it at Blythburgh where it has an identity crisis and thinks it's a lake;

Walberswick, an archetypical Suffolk coastal village. I can see EPZers having a hayday with those fishermen's huts in the harbour;

Covehithe and Benacre.

There are plenty of sites to choose from in this area, and these are just a few suggestions. They can easily be changed if people have other ideas.

wayhay, I've been keeping an eye out for a local meet - well I have links down there so it's local enough - it's a long time off but I'm definately interested. Only weekend definately out is 19 May.

The whole area is fantastic, and although they are not my most regular haunts, (Aldeburgh, Sizewell and Thorpeness) I'm keen to explore further afield round there!

Just had a look at your website Ian - only briefly as it made me quite sad - I miss the Suffolk countryside so much and your pictures really show its beauty. I love Cambridge, but miss the coast and heaths. I know your home village - had a schoolfriend who lived there - well any excuse to get down to the coast! (Unfortunately can't make the Norfolk one in Feb).

I'd be up for this and can do either of the last two weekends in June (at the moment!) but I can't do the first weekend in July. My sisters wedding and guess who's doing the 'togs!

Might be up for this as I sometimes work over that way, so all down to timing.

Hi Ian I would also be interested in this, is it going to be a Sunrise meet, sunset meet or all day? As if its going to be all day in June its going to be a real long day.
