Anyone up for a summer sunset meet around Devils Dyke? Either Sunday 1st August or Saturday 28th August?

The idea would be to meet at Saddlescombe Farm about lunchtime, walk up and round Newtimber Hill, down to Poynings village, then back up towards Devils Dyke for the late afternoon/evening light.

Any takers?

Yes.

28th August would be a Bank Holiday Week-End.... would not affect me, in fact I could make both dates Smile

Just to let other people know, there is a "Tea Room" at Saddlescombe Farm for a caffeine fix before the start and a pub in Poynings for mid-walk refreshment Smile

Looks good to me just had a quick squiz at Devils Dyke, thanks for letting me know Julie!

Can't do August 1st at the moment so 28th suits me better at the moment.

No trainers anymore, just walking boots!!!!

Can I still come?

Lol

Steve.. I wonder if you'll ever live those trainers down!! Grin

Looks like the 28th is the preferred choice atm. I'll post something on the meets page soon with a map etc

28th August - Sounds good.
Rumor has it that Sony may have released a new 500mm lens the week before
Shall I buy Wink
or Shall I buy a Nikon instead ?
or even a few rolls of film and bring along my MF camera Smile

Perhaps we should have a Poll Wink

Wink Had a sneaky visit this afternoon to Saddlescombe Farm after visiting a fairly nearby camera shop.
Had a chat with a NT warden / ranger who does not see a problem with taking photos for personal use... of what I will not reveal, you will have to come along to find out, that is if it is on Julie's route !

OK I will own up, went along to see how unfit I was at running up hills with a backpack on Sad

And no, I did not spend any money in PC, just looking, trying and comparing products.

Is there not a Pub at the top of Devils Dyke? I seem to remember having a beer there some years ago Smile

Meet page

Here

Times are flexible, depending on what others feel may work and how long the route may take. If the weather looks promising it might be an idea to linger in the pub for a bit so we end up back on The Downs for the best light.
