Thank you, you're all very kind. Even my father Wink
What this 'roadtest' demonstrates is that this is a very versatile lens, something that is generally not appreciated. I am the lucky owner of the 18-250 version. When I bought it, I was firstly a bit sceptical, taking account of comments of 'experts', many of whom had not used the lens and taking account of the challenge posed by the range of focal length. This lens is no match for prime lenses but in turn they are no match for the sheer versatility and convenience offered by this type of lens and for me that is very important. Basically you need to identify your photo requirements. I have even used this for wedding photos and it surpassed my expectations. My only gripe with Tamron is that they do not produce this lens any longer for all DSLR mounts. Net result is that I [and presumably others] shall have to move to Sigma.

Discreetphoton's pics posted here are indeed good and I suspect that is more about his vision and technique than the hardware but nevertheless it shows what this lens can do in the hands of the right person.

Your write up on 'Embracing The Mundane' is probably one of the best in both technical insight and personal revelations you have done

Absolutely agree. Food for thought for many of us.

I can remember doing an armadillo, but not sure the pig was one of mine. Although I imagine it wouldn't be too hard.

After the comments on 'Oops' I've come to the conclusion that the lens is pretty ordinary but the photogrpaher is brilliant
