Thanks for all this fab work David - I'm sure some of it may be as much down to the photographer as it is to the lens!
But, nevertheless, it has increased my keenness to see this lens made with M4/3 fitting (the 18-200 is already available as Sony NEX).

Couldn't agree more. You've done a sterling job with that lens and I hope anyone buying it thinking it will delivery this quality on its own isn't disappointed. It does show that a superzoom is actually very capable tool in the right hands.
Thank you both very much
Well it was your images that led to me upgrading from my old Tamron, so thank you for your inspiration. You've produced some wonderful pictures with it and I can imagine how difficult it must have been to keep going.
Having seen Daves images with this lens I purchased the older version at a very reasonable price and I must say it's a fantastic carry anywhere lens.quality and sharpness are excellent and the vr is a must have. All in all a superb lens!!
Thank you both
A great 365 lens test diary David. I was inspired and bought one to use as a walkabout lens. Can honestly say if it hadn't been for your blog ,I wouldn't have even considered getting this lens.
Lovely lens, taken today hand held approx 15 feet away at 270mm f6.3. iso 100, 1/400th sec. Cropped at 100%.
