I m thinking of buying a Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8 SP XR ZL Di LD for my 5d mk2 I ve got a couple of L series lens but nothing fast and I can t really afford a grand for canon on a lens that would rarely be used. Anyone got any other ideas.

well it depends... what type of photography? Does it matter if it's not f2.8?

I see you're portfolio is all portraits. Have you considered the Canon 24-105mm f4 L if you need a zoom, starts from around 650? The alternative would be looking for a good second hand 28-70mm L which you should be about to get for around 500.

Otherwise the prime lens, 50 f1.4, 85 f1.8, 100 f2.8, and 135 soft focus (can be used without soft focus enabled) are all good lenses and offer the narrow depth of field for reasonable prices.

I ve got a 24-105L I m looking for something faster for inside no flash pictures..museum,weddings etc ...if I could find a 28-70L second hand for 500 I would buy one but I can 't and thats about my top range.

A 50mm f1.4 prime would probably serve the purpose.
