This has been a wonderful thread so I must visit the forums more often. 
I had a little dabble with textures a few weeks ago and this has made me want to do more. I guess I ought to join in so here is a leaf I shot in the snow then applied 3 different textures. The idea was to complement and enhance the autumnal colours.
I've really enjoyed using the textured BG....something I haven't done before but reckon I will from now on
This pic I had discarded because of the BG...it was just too messy and the other of Nick was just awful....but I quite like them both now. Excellent thread.

Wow, what a mice treasure trove of information (this thread) and that texture section - thanks all. i've been trying textures but subtle is not something i've grasped yet.
