I usually park on the layby on Thornton Lane and cross the bridge over the stream. There's normally no problem parking there and it's only a slightly longer walk than where the track meets Twisleton Near Barn. It's a little rutted so just watch the underside of the car.

No probs Chris. Have to remind people to use the stone style to get over the wall [near the tree] ... apparently some people don't and climb the wall which is crumbling in places, this p#sses the farmer off.

I've had no problem parking on the Kingsdale road near the track from there to Twistleton Near Barn.

Alternatively, provided you're not too concerned about time, Twistleton Scar can be taken in as part of the Ingleton Waterfall Walks circuit - which uses that track to pass across the end of Twistleton Scar to get from the River Twiss to the River Doe.
