It offers 2 stops higher, doesn't mean it is going to be 2 stops better? Or am I wrong?

All it means is the quality you get will be the same two stops higher, i.e. 6400 on the Mk III should be the same (noise-wise etc) as 1600 on the Mk II. Or 12800 the same as 3200.

Whether that is actually true, remains to be seen of course! Wink

I think it means that id a 5DMKII is taking a shot at ISO800 the 5D MKIII will have the same noise at ISO 3200. For low light work that could be fantastic, if true. That and the improved AF and dual cards, pretty well decent improvements if true. List price, well Canon always put in fantastic prices. Its like whoever bought a Renault at list price for example.

Canon seem to have gone for an increase in low-light capability over a major increase in megapixellage. Which is a good thing in my book.

But.... it will be fascinating to see a high-ISO noise comparison between the Canon 5D3 and the Nikon D800 (Hi Josh! Grin).

Agreed - far more useful in practice. I'd be interested to see some real world tests.

I agree with that too, if it really is 2 stops better.

3 to 4 years from now I may be looking at this as my next body. I'll let the "Beta-testers" work out the bugs and get the price down before then Wink

Like the sound of DPP 3.11 though
