ive been swimming with dolphins so ive been close, but seeing them swimming free in the ocean is always special, ive had them riding the bow wave of boats ive been on, whilst up in scotland earlier this year there were pods of dolphins swimming past the point at fifness, i was so frustrated that i couldnt get any closer, my 300mm lens just wouldnt cut it, do you have any pictures where your equipment wasnt up to that amazing shot you tried so hard to get ? ive put some examples below, this was the first image

this was the first image cropped in as far as i could, it would have been a special image, but it was a bridge too far, this mother and two babies swimming past was just amazing,

This was one of those lucky moments that happened right in front of my eyes but didn't have my tripod and was using the long end of a 'low end' lens - sigma 28-300...this was the best I could get!

Whilst on Colonsay i tried to take picters of a seal swimming and same scenario too far away but i can't upload it, frustrating is the word but is that not the point really , its like golf/fishing if it was too easy it would become boring

A boat too far away so cropped, then stylised to hide the poor quality.
