I felt sure somebody would have started a thread on this already, but they haven't so I have!
So come on then - what are the first thoughts of everyone?
I liked him, but it just seemed odd that he was so young in comparison to the previous ones.

I thought he was very good, especially with such a hard task of following David Tennant (who is by far the best Dr ever!!).

I thought the episode was a bit ordinary but I was impressed by Matt Smith. I was getting a bit bored with Tennant's angst-ridden Doctor and I'm hoping the 11th Doctor will be a bit more off the wall and less prone to emotive introspection. If he gets the right scripts I'm sure Smith will be fine.

Can I politely request that people not mention anything they might know about upcoming episodes on this thread - I've gone to great lengths to avoid all spoilers for this series.

    Was there a new doctor?

I was pretty absorbed by that police uniform Wink

Agree with spaceman; the episode wasn't spectacular but Matt's acting was fantastic and crazy, and made me laugh out loud more than once.

I'm so glad she turned out to be a kiss-o-gram. For a while I thought she was really supposed to be a police officer - in that skirt. I thought "you've gotta be ****ing kidding".

Apart from John Pertwee and Tom Baker of course Tongue

    ...and William Hartnell.

Christopher Ecclestone was one of my favourites - also, had he screwed up the come back series, I'd never have bothered with the rest - and had the series flopped, would there ever have been a David Tennant?

I was a huge Tennant and Eccleston fan and wasn't sure about Matt Smith. Was there a Police uniform in the programme I was too busy looking at the bow tie!

Loved the new Doctor roll on the new series.

Tom Baker!!! Grin only semi-geriatric here!!!

    Oh i missed it Sad

Eccleston was great, better than Tennant. Quite sure the new chap will do well, i liked his introduction at the end of last seasons Tennant finale, momentarily thinking he had come back as a female, and then glad he wasnt ginger, very funny script.

The new Doctor is ok, but my favourite was David Tennant... *sigh*

John Pertwee has yet to be surpassed ?
