Oh dear, one of the chicks is out of the nesting box, it just had a try to get back managed to get a claw onto the wood but fell back. At least it seems to know where it should be.

Very funny this afternoon, the chicks were all stood upright in the nesting box with mother stood on the parapet screeching at them for quite some time. It was as if she was giving them a rollicking for being outside the box as they did this morning.

Took me by surprise when I logged on this morning and the nest was empty

They managed to seek some shelter from the extreme heat, until the sun moved around and put the nest back in shadow

Looks like one of the chicks has a dodgy foot/claw the right one, its been sitting there holding it up off the floor quite some time. Anyone else noticed it?

All the chicks look almost ready to take the first flight....all taking great risks right on the edge ...

Seems like there's only one left now - the mum just came in with food, it was grabbed by the youngster, who dashed back to the nest to eat it (though it does look a little puzzled on how to proceed!). Smile
