This is me with my sister circa 1950, taken in our backgarden in Dagenham. I never knew then that the building in the top right of the image was to become my local pub and the land between that and our house was farmland (housing estate now) where the farmer allowed us to ride on the backs of his Shire Horses when they returned back from the fields. Lots of happy memories whilst growing up but little did we know whats lies ahead?

Here are a few charting my downfall ![]()
Aged about 27 with my eldest son

Aged about 40 inspecting the insulation system we developed applied to a dirty great big gas soreage tank in Qatar

At about 55 catching an 8lb Barbel (the high colour in my cheeks was not high blood pressure!
)

Resigned to the fact that I will have the urine extracted on this one, but publish and be damned, I say.
This should give you all a chuckle:
Arriving home after a weekend hike throught the New Forest...must have been all of 14 and already 6' 2"!

Quote: How tall are you now Malcolm. I went through that very painfully and ended up 6'5".
I stopped at 6' 4" and have been there ever since![]()
