As legendary bluesman Bleeding Gums Murphy put it in The Simpsons:
[to Lisa] You know, you play pretty well for someone with no real problems.
Lisa: Yeah, but I don't feel any better.
Bleeding Gums Murphy: The blues isn't about feelin' better. It's about makin' other people feel worse and makin' a few bucks while you're at it.
No help now I know, but the music channels on Sky, had a pay to listen one.
You could chose your particular genre and lie back and listen
Their Blues channel was awesome
Everything from the early days on it
We paid a fiver a month for the privilege, but it eventually stopped transmitting
It might be about elsewhere though
A mixture of blues / soul / rock but nothing in many years of watching live acts has impressed me as much as last Friday night...I saw Vintage Trouble at the Abertillery Blues / Rock Festival. Energy like I have not witnessed in a VERY long time...I felt young again...and was 54 the day after..lol.
Blues Hand Me Down

In the late 60's there was Long John Baldry and his Hoochie Coochie men. His one and only hit was 'Let the Heart aches begin' 3 British blues pioneers from the late 50's early 60's were, Alexis Corner, Cyril Davis All Stars and the Great John Mayall and the Blues breakers.
Heavy blues, ZZ Top, Allman Brothers, Jonny Lang and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Edgar Winter, George Thorogood. Lighter blues Jimmy Vaughan, Sherman Robertson etc etc.
For pure Delta Blues Google 'Spike drivers' and Ray Stubbs and of course as mentioned Sea sick Steve.
Or check out all the old black American blues artists to numerous to mention here.
