Tonight I have uploaded an experimental digital art image,
and i am intrigued by the views that i have had,
i have 8 votes (clicks)
39 unique views,
and a staggering 55 views,
now my question is why do people come back for a second or third look look but not comment, its not the clicks i am interested in,
but if some one returns there is a reason,
and its the reason i am interested in.
maybe my image is so unusual and fascinatingly clever, lol
that people don't understand it,
so return to read others comments to try to understand,
i would be interested why people return so often to an image but dont comment

that's what i was hoping either that or they couldn't believe some one would upload such cr*** lol

Sorry Paree, cant help ya. Of the 59 individuals who viewed it, 11 clicked. Cant explain the persistant views though. As for the few comments, sometimes I see an image Iike but cant put my finger on why so I just click. You will never have an equal amount of views and clicks.

Think of it as a compliment. People may not have had the time to comment and even less time to click, but people have taken the time to view. Personally I would find it gratifying to know that so many people have taken the time to view................. better than not viewing at all.

I'm one of them, back browsing through the site after a period away.
I looked, I'll probably go back but even then I don't think I'll know what to say.
It's one of those pictures that works on several different levels & emotions. Maybe one for the DG that I've just found & feel quite excited about. ![]()
I think posting about it here isn't helping your views, because everyone that read it went to check it out lol. Also people that have commented will go back and see if others have commented I suspect, given the number of conversations that go on under people's photos
I never understood the "unique views" thingy either. I'm sure it has some profound, mathematical significance.
As to not commenting....
1.) Sometimes I'm rushed, but want to acknowledge the image as one I Iike
2.) sometimes it leaves me just plain speechless
3.) sometimes I like it but not sure how to explain my attraction
4.) sometimes I can't think of anything that hasn't already been said
Paree,
I haven't looked at the pic yet but my explanation would be:
sometimes the thumbnail sparks enough interest to view the fulll size image, on closer inspection people feel they don't need to comment or click.
Personally if I particularly like something I'll click, but not always have time to comment. I prefer to leave critique/feedback rather than a 'nice pic' style comment which, for me at least, would be reflected by a click. If you want detailed comments on the pic the Critique gallery and/or Critique Buddies groups are great.
Hope that helps!
Rob
