....or even after you lose it.

Immobilise is being supported by most of the UK's Police Forces it's worth registering your camera equipment including serial numbers, as it will be used as one of the search facilities on recovered and found property.

Not just cameras of course - anything that you consider to be of value.

Been using for a couple of years now. Still need to get round to photographing everything though.

Nice one Keef! Thank you. My camera stuff is logged with Nikon but this is very useful for everything.

Worth doing and this is being pushed out so that officers and front desk are well aware of it.

It's OK having your gear registered with Nikon or Canon etc but if you have your camera stolen in, lets say, Swindon and it turns up as found or recovered in Birmingham, your chances of having it returned, even if you report it in Swindon, are very slim.

This way you get flagged up nationally.

and PS, cos this machine won't run editing scripts.

Registering with your manufacturer means nothing to the police.

I got 2 cameras stolen before realising the value of logging the equipment with Canon. I do it now. It doesn't hurt, and you never know.

And of course HMRC can check whether you have more than is appropriate for your declared income!
