Just what is it you look for in a photograph that elicits your vote?

Is it just that the shot is pleasing to your eye, maybe lighting, composition, subject matter? Do you consider the difficulty in taking the shot, shooting conditions etc?

So what is it you look for when voting?

For me it's not always about the best shot, we all learn new things every day.....I can put my hands up and say I'm not perfect. So sometimes I vote because of the stunning image, sometimes because its something new and in the end I vote because people need a lift........I wonder how many people are as I would say vote snobs only voting on the top shots.........or vote just to get votes........

Voting is a bit reciprocal which makes you look at images by your chosen connections, which
in my case I've added when I've seen a few of their's I've liked.
Maybe we don't like every follow up image but, commenting is good for your own development too
as it makes you look for something positive and we learn a heck of a lot from each other.
Encouraging voting is good too when you see beginners or juniors and watch their progress
    along with your own.
Only problem - it takes a lot of time out of your day!!
