In case you haven't had an ID yet the bird is a Ruff. The males in full breeding plumage look amazing, with a full Ruff but this is either a non breeder or a female. Nice photo. They are sometimes confused with redshanks due to the colour of the legs. And books often do not show the interesting colours on the back and wings.

thanks everyone for your help and comments, ive searched all night and i think a varient of Ruff could well be the answer. theres another rarity id hoped it could be but im less convinced.
i have contacted rspb tichwell and they will check other sightings and will verify pictures
thank you very much for your assistance.
This is a female Ruff. You see them in a variety of colours and markings and the I D guides can't cover all the combinations.
i can now confirm that this is indeed a Ruff Female maulting into summer plumage and has been confirmed by rspb Tichwell.
thanks everyone for your efforts confirming this one,
