Can anybody help? I'm using Internet Explorer 8 with Windows 7 and suddenly, for no apparent reason, I can't view slideshows. There's just a white space where the slideshow should be. I discovered this while trying to view the homepage of my website and it worked OK the last time I looked.
My husband, Phil_R, can view the same websites that I'm trying to look at on his computer running Windows XP and doesn't have this problem.

Its not a problem with Windows 7 or IE8......
The security in IE8 is much tighter that previous versions, There is one part called " Smart Screen " This basically filters out anything that might be harmful to your computer....
However in default settings it can be a little overzealous.
So check out the settings in IE8, You may have to lower the option to be able to view all things web wise.
Thanks Vince! That seems to have fixed it. Couldn't find anyway of lowering the Smart Screen settings so I switched it off and I can view slideshows now.
Quote: so I switched it off
No problem Sue, Glad to be of help.
Turning it off does the job for me too........
