It's funny how inspiration comes.

In acknowledgement of a charity cycle ride that I start on Thursday September 4th, cycling from Greenwich in London to La Tour Eiffel in Paris, a distance of 460km/300 miles, over 3 and a half days, I thought it would be a good challenge to photograph anything French!

This could be something that symbolises France or the French, made in France or bought in France.

My charity ride is for The Royal British Legion and so far I've managed to get support to the tune of £4700 and hope to make it to £5k by the time I return home Grin

Usual rules apply:

1. The challenge is just for fun.
2. All images must be taken after the theme is announced.
3. The challenge runs from 8pm on the Sunday and runs until 8pm the following Sunday.
4. Only one upload per member.
5. Please feel free to comment on the entries once judging is complete.
6. The person who hosts is the judge for that week challenge and the judge’s decision is final.
7. The winner gets to create, run and judge the challenge for the following week.
8. Have fun

Delighted with all the entries tonight. A great set so thank you all.

There can only be one winner but I'll share my short list.

In third place with a simple but thoughtful composition and background is Jack.

Anne with her tasty looking St Agur (one of my favourite cheeses) makes a very close second

But my number one tonight goes to Dave (Fotomanic) for the nicely lit garlic bulbs.

Thanks again all.

I may not be in a position to enter this week as I set off to London for my 300 mile cycle to Paris but will be back the week after. So have fun everyone and make sure you get your entry in Grin

Thanks Paul. On my home at the moment so it will probably be a couple of hours before I post next weeks theme. Gives me time to think of something

I'm undecided to take it or not. Bit of bulk on the bike even with its tiny size. So may go with the compact... Mainly as if it gets dropped it won't break my heart lol.

Thanks for the wishes all.
