I'm reading The Islamist at the moment, it's turning out to be quite an intriguing read.
What's everyone else reading?
Jeremy Clarkson's books.
Like any Religious texts, they're required reading.

Quote: Harry potter one, again,
Excellent! Did that recently too - and re-run all the DVD's. (HP VI is imminent...
)
ahem *takes a deep breath:*
at the moment I am reading:
Storm of Swords - George RR Martain
The Glass of Dyskornis - Randall Garrett and Vicki Ann Heydron
Guards Guards = Terry Pratchett
Post Captain - Partick O'Brian
The Lies of Locke Lamora - Scott Lynch
Memories of Ice - Steven Erikson
The Crystal Singer - Anne McCaffrey
Yes I really am reading all those at the same time (but not at at the same time
) I tend to jump around quite a bit ![]()
Well, I was reading "Midnight's Children" by Salman Rushdie, but unfortunately I was taking my time and it's just won the best of Booker (best Booker winner in 40 years) which means when I phoned the library to renew it, I was told I couldn't because it won best of Booker, so all the snobs have reserved it and I had to take it back.
Well, they didn't actually say that, but you get the gist.
Edit: tbh, it is a bit boring....

Lol, my friend has read a few of Clarksons too.
I've got hold of The Da Vinci Code, I need to see what the fuss is about ![]()
"The Worst Journey In The World" by Apsley Cherry-Garrard.
Amazing to get the full story of Scotts ill fated polar expedition - as good as any fictional thriller going.

Good story, seems to have been written by a 12 year old!
Tandia - Bryce Courtenay.
Not sure if you remember the film The Power Of One from the early 90s, but it was based on and named after the first book Courtenay wrote. They're both based in South Africa, the first from just before WW2 until the early 50s, and the second follows straight on through to the 60s. Based in the north of the country initially, moving onto Johannesburg, it's a story based about apartheid and the treatment of the blacks and coloured people in that time, which is interesting to me as I lived in Jo'burg for 6 months last year. I had bought both books when I first saw the film, but hadn't read the second one after I demolished the first one in a 3 days sitting in the school holidays for some reason. I've got about 200 pages left of the 900 page book...
Aren't you glad you asked? ![]()
