    I think the secret is that Mike understands his subject so well that the lighting comes naturally to him. He instinctively knows from experience what light will work and when to make the most of it.

    I believe so. But I was thinking of Hitchcock, actually, who insisted on appearing in every one of his films himself, even if it was just as a corpse floating in the Thames.

    Actually it was a guy named Terence Cunoe who includes a mouse in all his paintings.
