Something that always bugged me about the more well known radio staions - even before digital, was the amount of waffle that the DJ, who is now known as a presenter, had to deliver because of the limitations on music airplay per hour.
I was delighted when only the other day, I found a digital station preset called 'Chill', which has no DJ/presenter, no adverts, no news - just a subtle 10 second reminder voice-over saying 'Chill', or Just Chill' or something similarly short and sweet.
Chill
What do you listen to?
Real FM in the morning, Smooth in the evening and occasionally Radio 2 on long journeys, because I can't be bothered retuning every 50 miles.
I totally agree about the mix between music and waffle though, which is why I never listen to Radio 1 and rarely Radio 2
Radio Cumbria during lambing season for the lamb bank, essential listening for all farmers with homeless lambs.
R4 and R4-Extra. Oh!... and the Goon Show online (two servers - one in Oz the other in the US)
Radio 5 Live and Radio 4 Extra. I tend to listen to R4E on my iPod via the TuneIn Radio app. That way I can choose what programme in the schedule I want to listen to rather than having to put up with whatever is broadcasting live. Having been depressed by the reality of the news on R5L I often switch over and choose a piece of classic radio comedy from R4E. Fair cheers you up.
