Apparently a 'full colour-capture direct image sensor' is about to be 'unleashed'. so the image isn't jammed with interpolated pixels, but will that make much visual difference from any other DSLR?

Is it possible to unleash a gadget?

yeah, the fact that its a sigma body falls down the list immediately, I don't have confidence in all their glass. what will the noticeable differences be? you'll have to ask sigma about the 'unleashing' business.

    If it's leashed it is.

Ah so the detractors are already at it even though it's not been released yet. Here's a novel thought, why don't you wait and see before pulling it to bits.

detractors? thats a bit harsh for a little curiosity. if anyone would like to explain what effect a 'full colour-capture direct image sensor' will have it would be great.

    righto Smile

The detractors were not deriding the camera, they were deriding the glass which would have to be fitted to it. The glass is out there to be tested, review etc so they can make their informed opinions.

I've found Sigma lenses to give me very good results and so have my clients.

No...we we're deriding the camera that the sensor is going into....some of us can recall the the adverts for the original Sigma and how disappointed the market was when it arrived - once bitten.

So like I said originally, how can you slag something off that hasn't been released yet?
