For those who have a foliopic web site - who has the highest Alexa ranking?
I was surprised mine is as high as 558,146 as I haven't really marketed it. (Edit just realised as I have a subdomain of foliopic it's using that Alexa ranking. If you have your own domain name it will be different)

For those unfamiliar with alexa it's a small plug in that tracks internet activity. I have the Alexa Sparky Add-on for firefox which lets me see the Alexa rank for any site I visit. It's useful to gauge how popular sites are when browsing. To give you an idea where that is in comparison with other sites - ePHOTOzine is currently 17,972, Google is No 1 and Facebook is No 2.

low at the moment but climbing
    1 month 7,078,271
    3 month 14,208,803

Now you've done the facebook plug that should increase that number.

Toolbars and Extensions are also available for Internet Explorer and Chrome if you want to monitor your site's growth.

    looks like it Chris
Once you have a site you have to market it.

Cole, for example has many friends on facebook. He' s added a "like it" button on his foliopic homepage and 34 (at last count) had clicked it. This means each one says they like his site on their fb profile to their network of friends who may end up wondering what their friend is liking and take a look themselves.

Yep, going to have to spend a bit of time on it this weekend I think! I add a link every now and again on fb, which normally gives a bit of a spike to traffic.

Will give it a bit of a re-vamp and then come back on here for some feedback in the website forum.

    Cheers,
    Chris

The bit I struggle with here is that someone such as yourself Pete, recommend the use of Alexa. These folks don't tell anyone what they do with the data they collect and correct me if I'm wrong but Microsoft, Symantec and many others consider their stuff (was gonna say *****) malware. This toolbar also is well known to slow down your PC and Interweb.

Sorry to be against folks here, but my advice is NOT to install it!

Can't install the widget, but the rank for PhotoDimension, according to a site which checks your Alexa rank is 7,805,733

Not sure how good that is.
