I was wondering what YOUR OWN favourite photo might be and why?

If you can, upload the photo in the the thread excellent, otherwise a link to your portfolio image.
(I searched for prior version of this thread and found this in 2004, before you could upload images into threads.

This is Mine Otter Splash

because despite the noise it captures the moment perfectly and reminds me of fun photos.

I took this with a compact camera and it made me realise I could create great images. It ignited my passion for photography.

My lad caught unaware just as he was in a moment with the autumn treasure.

fave photo "you took".... hmmmm

not sure really, changes virtually every day Wink

Thing is with "your own" photos, there's a story behind them - more than just the pixels or print. Only you really know everything about the creation of the shot, the prep, the lighting, the time spent waiting around, the filters, the post processing etc. etc. so what you see as your fave may not be what others see

I love this one - it's not often I get a bunch of gorgeous girls, all dressed up and looking great, eating out of my hand - but at this wedding, I had this lot doing all sorts of stuff, and they loved it.

Thats a really good question and one I've not given any thought to. Ade_mcfade kinda nailed it talking about your own story behind your own photo. I choose this because I watched the cloud dance around the mountain for 10 minutes, camera in hand and mouth open, absolutely mesmerised. It was only when I felt the wind pick up and a few spits of rain that I tried to capture it, the rain coming in on the water to the right shows how close I was to missing it!

I guess Im saying the photo reminds me of the experienceSmileimg-6597.jpg

This is 'up there' among several for me... Fond memories of a very special open-air Concert in the grounds of the Academy in Sandhurst.

Very good question and a hard one to answer! I agree that my person favourites are the ones that I have a lot of memories associated with.

At the moment it's this one of the Boston Skyline at Sunset, which marked the end of a fantastic trip to Washington then Boston last year. This boat trip was the icing on the cake Smile It's a tough call choosing your favourite photo, because I have lots of photos with friends that mean a lot of me, but then I guess your favourite photo and most important photo are two different things.

At the moment, (because it will change within a few days) is this snapshot I took of my youngest grandchild Jacob enjoying his very first ice cream last weekend. Excuse the quality, it was taken using a Pentax Optio Compact.imgp1597-1.jpg

Carol Decker of T'Pau, taken with my clunky old Praktica. Special to me not only as I was a huge T'Pau fan but that getting such a shot with manual exposure, manual focus and in a crowd of people at the gig gave me enormous confidence at a time when my photography hobby was in its infancy. It is one of the pictures that has helped me push myself as a photographer.

This is mine, I call it "A Walk in the Park". It's done quite well for me, got me a silver bar in a National Photographic Competition and has just been selected for the North Wales Photographic Association exhibition at Electric Mountain, Llanberis starting 7th September 2011.a-walk-in-the-park.jpg
