OK, so you have 1000 and only 1000 to spend on photography equipment at Warehouse Express (as an example) - what would you buy?

Just looking for some ideas.

I had hoped to get the D300s, but looks like that will be too complicated for reasons that will take too long to explain the statement above holds true, the maximum spend is 1000.

So you can't (or won't) add to it?

In that case, buy me a couple of SB-900's and an SU-800. You can keep the change and my undying gratitude... How does that sound?

In my current frame of mind I would save it - but if its 1000 only and only - well .. Canon twinlight flash Smile
In preparation for getting an MPE65mm macro.

Other ideas might be a very very good (and carbon fibre) tripod and a really cracking ballhead to go with it.
Or a walk around lens like a 24-105mm L

Can't add to it.

I think I'll pass on James kind offer.

And I think I'll stick with Nikon kit for now Wink

Just bought a new 5541LS tripod, and have a kirk and arca-swiss ball head, did think of a new monopod which would account for 215.

Heh
What about more flash guns for some elaborate setup outside to blind squirrels or kingfishers or something? Or:
Binoculars/spotting scopes
Hides
Nightvision gear
I don't know if they sell them but things like laser trips for camera shutters for some experimental stuff

It is daft, 1,000 is a decent bit of cash, but having seen your kit bag I cannot think of what to get.

How about just spending the cash to pay Cole to lug your gear around Smile
