Hello there!!! Anyone have any advice on what flashgun I should buy (second hand) for my Canon EOS 300 (I know it is a fairly primitive camera, but I love the results and use Kodak Portra film still as I am an old fashioned kind of girl!).
I am not planning to upgrade to a digital camera in the future.
I have these 2 lenses:
Canon Lens 28-80mm
Canon Zoom Lens EF 80-200mm
My main reason for buying a SpeedLite is I enjoy Wedding Photography and therefore do group and portrait shots and have found that obviously the camera's fill-in flash is not up to scratch, expecially inside and low light conditons.
Any other equipment that you think might be helpful...
I am thinking possibly of the 540EZ?
Budget is £100 maximum.
Thanks so very much, really appreciate your help/comments...

540EZ is the way to go. It's the daddy of flashes for your film camera.
You should be able to pick one up on eBay for around £50 or from a dealer from £65 - £80 like Park Cameras or Mifsuds
Steven.
I'd PM you, but you've not got it enabled yet....
I have a Canon 430EZ that doesn't work on my 5D. Been meaning to put it on EBAY for ages but never got round to it.
Works fine
Lots of nice functions
ETTL, manual, strobe
should you be interested, make it known ![]()
Changing the thread slightly, I have been playing around with repeat shots using a hammerhead flashgun. To get many shots you have to set the flashgun to about 1/8 power. This of course gives a short duration flash, ideal for action shots. The Canon 300d only gives you 4 shots, but the 5d gives me about 30 shots before the storage capacitor empties.
