I like Outdoor Photography for the viewpoints too, its always interesting reading other photographers articles to see their approach and thought over their images so I much prefer some of the magazines that have lot's of articles written by other photographers rather than loads of poor images taken by the mag staff themselves. DSLR photography can be good for this.
Outdoor Photography is excellent, as is Black & White Photography.
found one by mistake whilst on hol's in December, i must admit i dont look at the mag's much cos they go round in seasonal predictabilty.
But Photo pro caught my eye for some album constrution pages, when i looked it was the 3rd of a series, hmm not much use at Pt3 but the offer inside was for 15 copies for £26(retail £4.50 per issue)so rang them and went for the offer, i got the back issue,s and 15 mag's for £34.00. used the tuition to do a wedding album and got my money back more than 6 fold. And the mag content is good every month.

Black & White magazine is the only one I'll buy on a regular basis, Practical Photographer is delivered, though it's subscription was a present (and a good one). Otherwise unless there is a compelling article or freebie, magazine buying is an irregular occurrence.

I receive photo pro as a subscription, which was a gift to me. Although I'm not a pro photographer it has much more interesting reading than most of the monthlys (too much wedding stuff in it really all the same, so my sub won't be renewed). Other than that I only buy when a mag has an article that catches my eye - I have no particular preference.
I used to buy quite a few magazines when I first started. Then I felt it became repetitive and at least 10 pages are advertisements, so reduced to 1-2.
Now, I hardly buy any, only occasionally Outdoor Photography when I manage to get into WHSmith during weekend.
I haven't bought a mag for quite awhile, but last off, I was buying Outdoor Life, American; Photolife, Canadian; and Nature Photographer, a quarterly American mag with very little advertising. Both Photolife and Nature Photographer are far from typical magazines; the articles and images, most of which are from readers, are always fresh and inspiring.
