No doubt I will be corrected, but it seems to me that if you want to get a lot of votes you either have to upload a shot of a nude woman or coastal landscapes with manipulated sunset skies.
Fortunately I am not bothered about votes. I used to upload photos just to share, but I dont bother with that now!

So, shoot a nude woman walking along a beach at twilight and you've cracked it Grin

Add a moon and you'll get an EC too Grin

No, you need a bunch of click buddies who will click any rubbish you put up.

Or you need to produce some great shots in the genre acceptable at the moment.

The click buddies are the best bet though.

PS

Better to lock this thread now I suspect.

Oh no not this topic again Sad

It's all about appeal isn't it to be fair. A shot of someones grandkids for instance has very limited appeal, normally to the family to be fair. A photo of a nekkid lady normally gets a million views but lots don't vote because this is Britain and the majority of the nation are repressed when it comes to nakedness. So it's a quick view making sure the missus doesn't catch you looking, i.e. no time to vote. Those that do vote obviously live on their own Wink Landscapes etc. appeal to an awful lot of people and therefore get the votes, these are the kind of shots no one gets into trouble for looking at and they have global appeal. I reckon so anyway.

I do studio shots and landscape and having done landscape I really do appreciate the time and effort that goes into the real good ones. The satisfaction of scouting a location and then waiting for days for the right light, pushing that button and getting a shot to die for is a huge buzz. Some may not do the scouting tho to be fair, they do the 'definitive' versions as I call them, they see other shots that have been done a million times before then arrive on the best morning/night ever and take the 'definitive' version, and so on Smile

Ade 'll be along in a minute and he'll put us all straight so don't worry Wink

EDIT: It took me so long to type this, Ade appeared above me, my apologies.

deary me....

I best get a different high horse to ride eh? Smile

This has been a fine steed though, a thoroughbred in fact.

Post a colourful landscape between 7 and 9 PM, and leave short but pleasant comments on around of the same 100 people's shots each day - you'll soon get far more clicks, which means you're a great photographer.

"Ding dong Merrily on high, in heaven the bell's... "

Just getting in the mood Smile
