    "what about the lovely Tessar?"

Well, it makes Schneider Kreuznach sound like some kind of hip disease. The Radionar sounds like some kind of x-ray treatment.

If you want to see pictures from a 'basic' camera....look at the zero 2000 web site. These pictures are all taken on pinhole cameras. There is NOTHING automatic or high tech on these wonderful little cameras

And some lenses from the house of Lugwig would "Meritar" mention.

A strange family indeed Ceri - I've always found Distagon quite broad-minded but Mirotar takes a very narrow view of things indeed!!

Indeed - I find Flektagon has a more normal perspective on most subjects Smile

    Serious pun time I think...

Old Mrs Pentax wanted to go to the shops so she asked her son for a lift... Ah say he, I'll Take You Ma...

    I'll get my coat Smile

Is it just me, or does it seem as if some of these comments are in a completely different language. Straight over my head. Please tell me i'm not the only one who hasn't got to grips with all the technical gargon yet. Smile

Sarah, it's jargon that 99% of people will never need - all the names are those of old lens types. Just a bit anoraky Smile

    Ceri

I have a Caonon EOS outfit but I love to use my rangefinder cameras. My favorite is my Konica Auto S2. I have two of them. The lens is amazing (45 f1.8).

Ah Konica's six element wonder that would put a spell on the anonymous Smile
