Why are there never any web site links on news items?

I was interested to see the latest News item about the Lake District Guide photographic competition but yet again was frustrated to find that there is no link to their website. Looking back this seems to be the case with all of the News items I looked at, even though most of them mention their websites, often referring readers to them for more information.

Is there some reason why there can't by relevant website hyperlinks on News Items?

Thanks,

Simon

I noticed the lack of a link in the Lake District Guide news item too Simon and filed an error report, assuming it was a one off error. Now I realise that it is more common place. As you say, very frustrating.

No link, I just move on and pass. Hardly worth having as a news item.

I agree that it is frustrating. Perhaps we should use this thread to post all the links that should have been attached to news items.

If you use appropriate search words in Google then you find that the first result returned is the web page you want .

Thanks John, that's what I do myself but it would be so much easier just to click on the appropriate link in the news item wouldn't it.

Thanks for the link John, I'd arrived got the wrong site by using what I thought were the appropropriate search words in google and was mystified not to find the competition!

Now excuse my ignorance on such matters, but I would have thought that a link would show the website where the traffic is coming from. This might then encourage them to spend a bit on advertising with ePZ rather than with Google, so perhaps the team are missing a trick here?

Thank you EPZ, I've noticed that all of the news Items recently added now having hyperlinks to the relevant websites.
