Was looking to pick up a decent Wide Angle Zoom lens for my Canon EOS 1000D, iam looking at a budget of not more than 400-450 USD, if anyone has any experience with lens in this range would appreciate some suggestions Smile

Thanks and Cheers

A used Sigma 10-20 might come in somewhere near your budget.

the bill may be a bit big for budget on the 17-40 though - surely they're more than $450 now?

Thanks Guys Smile

@ Pretorian - Iam based out of India so this option will not work, but thanks anyways Smile

I was talking to someone else a while back and he recommended i also look at the Tamron 18-200 mm lens as a general purpose wide angle zoom lens..has anyone any experience with this one ?

Just got myself a Tamron 18-270 VC (vibration compensation) or IS in Canon terms. Really impressed with it and nice and compact when zoomed in - they go for around 380-450 depending where you get one from, - I paid 450 at a privately owned camera shop near where I live but they may be cheaper elsewhere.

Sigma have just released a new super wide angle, the 8-16mm. Check it out on BHphoto.com.
