Hi I don't know if anyone one can help me....I have a desktop PC running Windows XP and connected to broadband, if I buy a laptop that is running Microsoft Vista can I set up a wierless router to run both at the same time allthough they run different operating systems. Hope that makes sense???

Regards
Steve

Do you want the PC and laptop to be able to communicate with each other, or just both access the internet?

Certainly the latter shouldn't cause any problem at all, and I can only assume that the former is just a case the settings being in different places on each operating system.

Thanks for the reply...

I only need the two systems to be able to access the internet at the same time, no need for one to communicate with the other.

Then there shouldn't be any problem at all, they will connect to the route separately so shouldn't conflict with each other.

However, one (fun) word of warning. Once you have the laptop you'll find that your PC internet access drops significantly, simply because (if you're like me) why traipse all the way up to the spare room to go on the internet when the laptop is right next to you? :o)

Thanks very much for the help Raziel. Much appreciated.

No problem Steve. It's nice to find a computer question I can answer.
