But he wasn't negative - he was constructive in that he told where it worked and where, in his view, it didn't.

Quote: No wonder there is a lack of people willing to give honest critique on this site... sad for those of us who actually want to learn...

    Absolutely......!

    Quote: Spot on Kathy.

    Absolutely.....!!

I just love people who declare that everyone elses efforts/work are " Crap " or " Rubbish " or " Substandard " Sure there are standards, But the standards are dependant on where you are at in any given subject, ie: Many of our junior members arrive on site to learn more about photography, Telling them thier efforts are crap, Is no way to encourage them to improve.

Same applies to a great many adult members too....!!!

Arriving on a site with the idea that you will stand out as some sort of photographic genious, Then moaning when you do not get the accliam you think you deserve, Is hardly the way forward, Think your good...Smile Then prove it to the world, Don't expect the world to do it for you.....Sad

Its largely down to forum posts like this, That many truely talented individuals do not visit or participate as much as they used to.....!!!!!!!!!

If your photos looked amateurish and you were in a clique of similar you'd get loads of votes for those. However they are just a bit too good for the cliques and they wouldn't like you for showing off with your titles. (Do them in a luminous colour of Comic Sans using Microsoft Paint so you don't stand out from the rest of the clique)

I don't like your photos because of the over the top production of the titles and I suspect I'm not alone. Either a grand regency typeface - which reminds me of a seventies chocolate box advert - or a motivational poster style serif proclaimation. For example The Swan. Such a grandly presented title promises us, the lucky viewer, *the* definitive swan.

Am I the only one who is disappointed at this point?

Some of your other work, like your landscapes is very, very good. It's ruined by the titles, they need to be humbler or done away with.
